Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 Enterprise Processor License
Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 is Microsoft’s premier server for creating
e-commerce solutions, building on over 10 years of innovation and success.
Commerce Server 2009 helps set a new benchmark for simplicity—it comes with a
new, production-ready, out-of-the-box, color-neutral Web site that allows
businesses to get their stores live and merchandise moving more quickly. New
page templating features mean organizations can change the look and feel of a
site just by pointing and clicking.
Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 Enterprise has no restrictions on topology and
site set up. It also includes the following features (which are not included in
the Standard Edition)
- Sharing of catalog and marketing campaigns across Web sites. Allows multiple
sites to share the different marketing campaigns, which can include discounts,
ads, and direct mail lists.
- Content staging. Stages all Commerce Server content before it is published to a
production site. This includes all data updates and can be customized to include
custom pages.
- Data warehousing and analytics functions. This is the analytics piece of
Commerce Server, which includes the 35 out-of-the-box reports and Online
Analytical Processing (OLAP) data cubes.
Licensing
A processor license includes access for an unlimited number of users to connect
from either inside the local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) or
outside the firewall. With a processor license, you do not need to purchase
additional server licenses, CALs, or Internet Connector Licenses. As per
Microsoft guidelines, per-processor licensing ignores how many cores are on a
processor. For example, a dual-core processor that has two cores on it is still
considered one processor for licensing purposes.
